March 1 — The Indiana Department of Education’s (IDOE) recently-released Choice Scholarship Program Report shows that 35,458 Hoosier students used an Indiana Choice Scholarship, commonly referred to as a school voucher, during the 2017-18 school year; a year-over-year increase of about 3.5 percent. The IDOE is currently accepting applications for Choice Scholarships for the 2018-19 school year until September 1.
“We advise families interested in pursuing a private school education for their children to begin researching options now for next school year,” said Kevin Gray, MySchoolOptions outreach director, ” The MySchoolOptions School Finder is a great tool for finding and cont acting participating school about the admissions process. Once a child has been admitted to a school, that school will help the family prepare and send the Choice Scholarship application to IDOE.”
Families can get a preliminary understanding for their eligibility for both the Indiana Choice Scholarship and State Tax Credit (SGO) Scholarship programs by using the MySchoolOptions Opportunity Calculator.
